POOL (page update, Development trailer, longer game description, ALL ENDINGS AND GUIDE)
GAME DESCRIPTION (EXTENDED) (WORK IN PROGRESS)
Upon discovering and submerging into the pool, the player, now identified as Mark, emerges from what appears to be the same pool, except it is now tainted with a deep red hue. As Mark clambers out of the pool, he is suddenly startled by a spine-chilling scream. Distressed, Mark rushes back to his home where he is given urgent instructions.
Following his initial plunge, Mark is resolute in his determination to rescue the individuals who were mercilessly dragged by the unidentified entity, whether it be a monster, a creature, or a person.
GAME MECHANICS
I took inspiration from FNAF, Zoochosis, and Slenderman for the game. It will have FNAF-like mechanics. Each location will have different versions, including an indoor pool version and an outdoor pool version. In the pool, there will be a single room to hide and defend yourself, with unlimited power unless something cuts the power off. If that happens, you will need to leave the safe space and reconnect/repair the power source. However, in this game, time won't save you.
The game will incorporate gameplay mechanics reminiscent of Slenderman, where players will search for people and body parts instead of posters. It will offer multiple endings determined by the players' choices during the dives, with the Slenderman mechanics significantly impacting the best outcome. Players will be required to locate and rescue trapped individuals before a specified time, and failure to do so will result in their deaths. To progress through the dive, players will need to save at least two out of five people.
When rescuing individuals, it's important to consider the implications. Saving people entails ensuring their safety and well-being, which may involve finding a secure location and assessing its suitability. To achieve the optimal outcome, it's crucial to carefully evaluate the environment and potential risks. (SPOILER ALERT: If you prefer to uncover the details on your own, please refrain from reading beyond this point.)
SPOILERS BELOW
ENDINGS
TRUE saved ending- you get this ending by saving absolutely everyone on all dives (base ending)
Saved ending- saving more then 5 people by the end of each dive and saving almost everyone (base ending)
All for one ending- (worst base ending) to get this ending you save less then 5 people and only saving yourself (base ending)
slaughtered ending- To get this ending you must play a new game+ on any difficulty and unsuccessfully save everyone but killing every (monster, creature) (new game+ ending)
Perfect ending- After unlocking a new mode by reaching one of the three base endings, players can find prototype containers of an untested gas left by the previous inhabitants. This gas can be used to lure and eliminate monsters by guiding them to specific locations and using the correct gas to neutralize them. However, if the process is not executed correctly, the entire run will be lost. Additionally, players are required to rescue all individuals during nine dives across three different locations. (new game+ ending)
(i did not explain the cause or effect of these different endings)
EXTRA mutated ending- (will be available in a post update after the release)
thank you for reading all that ik its a bit much but hope you enjoyed the insight into my first game this took me hours to write so don't forget to follow me for more updates which will probably slow down after this one as it would be more of an actual in game dev log
